Rustic Modern Primary Bathroom

This primary suite renovation honored the home’s existing character while bringing in modern comfort and craftsmanship. The owners loved farmhouse and industrial styles but wanted to maintain harmony with the rest of their home. The solution was a layered mix of materials and textures — wood, metal, and glass — designed with balance in mind.

A custom reclaimed-lumber vanity anchors the bathroom with scale and soul, complemented by hand-blown glass sconces. The new freestanding tub and half wall opened the room dramatically, replacing the bulky built-in and dated water closet. We raised the shower ceiling to remove the cave-like feel, while raised sinks add function and flair. The result: rustic warmth meets refined design in a space that finally feels as expansive as it looks.
